IFS Strengthens Support
for Mexican Operations through Veyron Partnership
IFS
announced this month that its alliance with Veyron, a Mexico-based
software consulting organization is growing stronger. The newly signed
reseller agreement will allow Veyron, a services partner of IFS, to
market and sell IFS Applications throughout Mexico. Under this
agreement, Veyron can offer total support around IFS Applications,
including sales, marketing and services.
Veyron now operates two core businesses -
consulting in process management and sales, implementation and support
of IFS Applications across Mexico. With over eight years of experience
in IFS Applications implementations throughout Latin America and a very
experienced team, Veyron has the necessary capabilities to fully support
global IFS customers.
Since becoming an IFS Applications reseller,
Veyron has added Galdisa, Hoteles City Express, and Grupo Sur
Promociones to the growing list of IFS customers in Mexico.

Manufacturing Business Technology Article Features IFS
Customer Colfax
"After a merger or acquisition, migrating the combined
entities onto a common enterprise application is
considered a best practice for uniting merged entities
into a single business unit.
The North American divisions of Colfax Corp., a
manufacturer of pumps and valves that grew rapidly by
acquisition in the first few years of the 21st Century
is a case in point. Within months of acquiring companies
across the United States, Colfax has moved these
companies onto a single instance of IFS Applications,
which is flexible enough to accommodate the varied
business models and manufacturing modes of various
Colfax divisions.
Colfax's experience also illustrates how rapidly new
divisions can be brought onto IFS Applications after an
acquisition. Amazingly, Colfax has migrated
newly-acquired companies onto IFS Applications in as
little as nine weeks!"

Free White Paper: 6 Steps To ERP
Implementation Success
Implementing an enterprise application like
enterprise resources planning (ERP), contact
relationship management (CRM), or enterprise asset
management (EAM) is almost as complex as undertaking
a civil engineering or major construction project.
Here are six simple steps to take in order to manage
that complexity and achieve your corporate goals.
Podcast: Can ERP Bring Social Media
Tools to Your Enterprise?
IFS
continues to hold its leading position in the ERP usability revolution,
this time by embedding social media-like communications functionality
within IFS Applications. But how are businesses expected to benefit from
this technology direction, and what are the key elements of enterprise
2.0, an approach to business that relies on Web 2.0 functionality like
wikis, instant messaging and microblogging? In this month's episode of
the IFS Radio Network podcast series, IFS Labs Director David Andersson
discusses the how's and why's of enterprise 2.0, and offers advice to
those planning to leverage it within their business.
|
"The
expectations of a software application may
have been that yes, it will solve their
business problems...today, they also think
or expect that it should also be able to do
things that they are used to doing in
Facebook or Twitter or other social media
tools. The way we've gone about is to A)
make sure they can interact in pretty much
the same way they would when they are
microblogging or updating their status on
Facebook and B) doing it in the context of
IFS Applications which ensures they do not
leave their working context and making sure
they are more prone to talk about
business-specific things rather than moving
out of that context and not being efficient
and productive in their work day."

IFS Upgrades and
Extends Asset Management Solution at SCA
IFS has signed an
agreement with SCA Ortviken paper mill and SCA Ostrand
pul p
mill for an upgrade and extension of IFS Applications to
increase asset management efficiency at the mills, and
improve production availability and quality. The mills
have used IFS Applications for asset management since
1994 and 2002. The agreement covers the latest version
of IFS Applications, licenses for new components, and
consulting services.
Ortviken paper mill
produces lightweight coated paper and newsprint on four
machines with an annual capacity of 870,000 tons of
paper. Ostrand pulp mill produces more than 500,000 tons
of pulp per year. The decision to upgrade IFS
Applications is part of a major investment program that
will remove bottlenecks and increase production with
fewer staff.
The new solution will
result in:
- Better standard
functionality by using new versions that are adapted
to the paper and pulp industry, for example support
for Standard Solutions Group, SSG, standards.
- A transition to IFS
Enterprise Explorer (IFS EE), a modern,
user-friendly user interface.
- Enhanced
capabilities to support service technicians via
mobile terminals.
- Tighter integration
of the plants in Ortviken and Ostrand, which will
enable less tied capital and better execution and
optimization of the purchasing process.
- Improved maintenance
planning.

Customer Support Analyst
"I'm a Custom er Support Analyst working out of the IFS
North America headquarters in Illinois. I'm a part of the
manufacturing functional team, which supports IFS Manufacturing
components
as well as Projects, Human Resources and Document Management.
I started working for IFS in 2007, and prior to joining the
customer support team in 2009 I was an application analyst
(focused on IFS Distribution) in the services team. Both roles
have given me a great opportunity to interact with customers and
assist them in utilizing the greatest potential of IFS
Applications. Addition to my work on support cases, I assist the
established services team with managing small service requests.
My work day is far from routine, and the variety of
business-scenarios and actions make each day different and
interesting. |
