Armstrong Standardizes Global Operation with IFS

Armstrong International, Inc. (AII), headquartered in Three Rivers, Mich., has selected IFS Applications in order to unify its global manufacturing business. AII is a manufacturer of intelligent system solutions for steam, air and hot water utility applications. By implementing IFS Applications, AII will integrate locations in the US, Europe and Asia, for improved communication, reduced transactions and consolidated visibility of critical business information.

“We are currently running different enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems at all of our main manufacturing facilities and this challenge had to be addressed,” Armstrong International, Inc. Chief Information Officer Kurt Armstrong said. “We began the process of looking for a new ERP system in an effort to become more global and streamline all our locations to depend on one business system. We selected IFS because it showed a strong backbone to support our manufacturing needs, its shop floor control modules were very impressive and in all it met the functionality requirement at a low total cost of ownership.”

ERP and EAM Penetrate the Construction Market

In this month’s edition of the IFS Radio Network, Listen to the IFS Radio Network!IFS construction industry guru Richard Cork discusses the drivers behind the adoption of ERP by the construction market. The rise of BIM and offsite construction and the efficiencies of uniting multiple departments on a single data set are dealt with in depth.

"One major contractor said to me – 'We are no longer builders. We are asset managers. But some of our assets aren’t built yet.' What we are now handing over to the building owner is not a building or asset, but an asset with a full set of asset management tools. The successful contractors will be the ones who are skilled at the asset management side of the equation as well as the raw construction." ~ Richard Cork
