Join IFS & IBM for 'The Project
Manufacturing Megatrend' Breakfast Seminar! |
|
|
|
|
Outsourcing, shortening product
lifecycles and
other economic factors mean that
manufacturers

can no longer concentrate on managing and
perfecting ongoing processes in order to ensure success.
Instead, they need to manage their entire business in a
project-enabled fashion, paying constant attention to a
handful of variables including: risk, cost, cash,
resources, and time.
See how enterprise technology is
changing to help 21st Century manufacturers adapt to
this changing business environment! Join IFS and IBM during National Manufacturing Week (NMW)
for this
complimentary technology breakfast event.

Lean Your Front Office with Business Modeling
|
|
|
|
|
When it c omes
to reducing non-value-added expense in the front
office, modeling tools like
the IFS Business Modeler can be invaluable. In this
month's installment of the IFS Radio Network podcast
series, IFS Business Solutions Consultant Greg
Romanello discusses how business modelers can
facilitate continuous improvement in front-office
efficiency.
Romanello stresses that a business modeling tool,
integrated with an enterprise application, can be
used to analyze existing processes, plan process
improvements and even automate front office
processes to eliminate non-value-added work.

"The process diagram not
only describes exactly what you
want to do... but it enables you
to perform the whole process
right from that process model.
This is opposed to it just being
a reference piece of paper
that leaves you to figure out for yourself what
short cuts or links
you need to follow on your own computer. It, in
itself, removes
non-value added work."

Business Solutions Consultant

IFS Introduces Enhanced User
Experience for CRM Solution
|
|
|
|
|
IFS has announced the release of IFS Sales and Marketing
customer relationship management (CRM) application with
a next-generation user experience for enhanced usability
that makes it easier for end-users to configure the CRM
tool to meet their precise needs.
According to Dan Matthews, Chief
Technology Officer at IFS, the move is part of IFS'
strong focus on providing outstanding user experience
and productivity to its customers. These changes will
present both technological and usability benefits to
users.

|
"The new user experience
features
a visual design similar to the
latest Microsoft Office products,
along with several features designed
to enhance user productivity,"
Matthews said. "With the product
now based on Microsoft .NET
technology and a new plug-in architecture,
organizations can
use standard tools and competence
to add custom visualizations and functionality. Our
solid architecture assures that all security and
business rules apply also to such plug-ins.
Configurable user experience
and enhanced usability are now
offered in one client for both
off-line and on-line usage."

What Customers are Saying About
Aurora
|
|
|
|
|
"It's
great to be able to have a say in this," ERP Specialist
Hans Lindberg at IFS customer ROL International said.
The company is a leading global manufacturer of store
fixtures. "We users have been calling for something like
this for a long time. IFS Aurora is better than I
expected. IFS has kept a lot from the existing
application but still managed to incorporate a lot of
new thinking. IFS Aurora will be easier for new users to
work with."
"The new navigation possibilities are
amazing and make it very quick to get around," Senior
CAD Engineer Derek Johnstone of IFS customer Wolfson
Microelectronics said. Wolfson manufactures high
performance mixed-signal semiconductors to the consumer
electronics market. "There are several different
navigation functions to use, and it's easy to go back
and forward in the application. The collaboration
functions in IFS Aurora eliminate many of the manual
steps currently necessary to communicate between
colleagues. Now I'll be able to carry out all the stages
in a single application. With a couple of clicks I can
select information and send it to a colleague, extremely
quickly and easily."
